Diigo was a cool tool that I learned about this semester that I had not heard of beforehand. It is a cool blog style tool that I learned how to use annotation and keywords in order to describe what I am annotating. I didn't know that there was a Google Chrome shortcut which makes it very easy to use because you can share to your specific group and what you annotate goes straight to Diigo. Other than all of this, I thought the overall website was easy to use and I think it is cool that you can open other student's posts and leave comments on them. I also like how you can go through your website and highlight and leave comments on important items you want others to see. Teacher professional development is very important so that all teachers can stay up to date on current technology and new things that could be useful for their classrooms and to their students as well. Creating time for teachers to go to workshops and conferences with other teachers or workshops just put on by t...

ILP #2: PLN

https://voicethread.com/myvoice/thread/13755292/83671377/77547007 For this ILP, I chose Reddit for the Personal Learning Network. Reddit is a blog-like website where you can search sub-reddit pages to read about other things you search going on in the community. For example, as a teacher, there are teacher pages that you can look up for advice, tools, lesson plans, etc. As well as this, you as a teacher can create your own page and make posts on it and your students can join your page. This way, you can communicate with your students and also keep in touch with your community by joining other pages.

I have been using Twitter since I was a freshman in high school because my mom would not let me download it in middle school, so it is not unfamiliar to me. I have learned that Twitter can go beyond just acting as a social media and looking at funny memes. You have the power to follow whoever you want and the kind of content that will show up on your feed. Some benefits of using Twitter are being able to communicate with others, so for using it in class we can communicate with our other classmates and Mrs. Bagdy. I have not experienced any issues using Twitter thus far. I learned how to use weebly which I had not used before. I enjoyed learning how to use a website and I found it very useful for future purposes whether we want to become teachers or not because websites can be used for other purposes as well. For me, it was useful because I do want to become a teacher and it also helped me understand what information is useful for a classroom website. Next time, I would learn to utili...

I visited Lincoln High School in Tallahassee's website and was able to find the teacher pages. I clicked on a teacher named Nick, Daigle and he teachers marine science and biology honors. He has a tab where you can click "meet the teacher," "marine science," "marine science calendar," "marine science study guides," "biology honors," "biology honors calendar," "biology honors study guides," and "helpful links." Within each of these tabs has information on the course itself, the calendar of when important dates are and links students can access that will give students more resources to utilize for the course if they need extra help. These all seem to be helpful things that both students and parents could access in order for more insight on to what they or their children will be learning about in the particular class. https://www.leonschools.net/Page/22230 I plan on using technology to ac...

My initial experiences using Diigo went smoothly because I had the help from Ms. Bagdy telling us how to navigate the website. Upon first using it, it seems overwhelming because the site doesn't seem that organized. It seems somewhat out to date and confusing because there are many different things you can use the site for. When we go to the group tab and have posted things under there, I didn't find that too difficult to use and I think it is cool how there is a bookmark you can use on your browser and it can show up on the website. I have really enjoyed blogging since we've started in this class. I find it nice to reflect on things we have learned about in class and be able to write about them while also being able to see and comment on your peers' posts. I find blogger very easy to use and that makes the process more enjoyable. Along with this, all questions that are asked of us to answer and things asked to discuss are mostly based on our opinion which I enjoy bec...

I did not start using Twitter until I was a freshman in high school because my mom didn't want me to have one. I have had a personal account ever since then so for about 6 years. I have never really been active posting on Twitter but I do enjoy scrolling through and looking at stuff because you can follow a variety of different people and use it for different stuff. I have found it beneficial because you can keep up with things that are going on around the world like news and other current events. Twitter might be helpful in my future career because I want to be a teacher and I could use it in my classroom similar to how we are using it in this class. The digital divide affects access student success in schools because depending on student's ability to access technology, they may not be able to complete assignments given by the teacher. If students come from low income families where they would not be able to afford internet access or a computer, then they wouldn't be abl...

ILP Design-Edmodo

https://voicethread.com/share/13629372/ I chose to do my ILP design about Edmodo. I used Edmodo in high school and I thought that it was a very efficient way to communicate with your students and between students as well. On Edmodo, the teacher can create assignments, quizzes, polls and post announcements. There is an Edmodo app that you can download on your phone which also makes it easier for older students to have access to these resources. Along with this, you can invite parents to the Edmodo page which would be useful for younger students so their parents can be in the loop of what is going on in their classroom and upcoming assignments. Edmodo is a very easy site to use which is why I also think it would be useful for younger students because I don't think they would have a problem using it.
