I chose grade level 3 and the standard  LAFS.3.L.3.4. This standard states that the teacher will address terms based  on a 3rd grade reading level. It also states that when a new affix is added to a word, the teacher will address the new meaning. Teacher will use a previously known root word to help determine the meaning of a new word. Online and printed dictionaries/thesaurus will be used to help further define words.  I would use Mathematics Formative Assessment System in my classroom. This system has math skills that teachers can use in their classroom and rubrics that can help them grade their responses. The rubrics provide more room for students to be graded on their creativity rather than a right or wrong answer. With times changing and technology becoming more advanced, it has become more common to be found in the classroom. Technology has made meetings and and meeting other teachers easier. There are different technology platforms that can be beneficial and effective for both the students and teachers such as: blogs, twitter, canvas, etc. Having these technology platforms is useful because students can have conversations and reply to their peers' work, teachers can post their notes and presentations so students can reference back to them, teachers can assign work that requires technology like powerpoint or making a video, etc. Teachers have to learn to change with the times and then teach their students how to do the same as well in order for them to remain successful in their classroom. My name is Katelyn Holohan, I go by Katie, and I am a junior at Florida State University. I am 21 years old and I am from Sarasota, Florida. I have lived in Sarasota for 15 years but I was born in Nebraska. My major is Family & Child Sciences with a minor in education as my end goal is to become an elementary teacher. I work at a daycare whenever I go home and I worked with special needs children a lot when I was in high school and enjoy helping others.
