I chose grade level 3 and the standard LAFS.3.L.3.4. This standard states that the teacher will address terms based on a 3rd grade reading level. It also states that when a new affix is added to a word, the teacher will address the new meaning. Teacher will use a previously known root word to help determine the meaning of a new word. Online and printed dictionaries/thesaurus will be used to help further define words. 

I would use Mathematics Formative Assessment System in my classroom. This system has math skills that teachers can use in their classroom and rubrics that can help them grade their responses. The rubrics provide more room for students to be graded on their creativity rather than a right or wrong answer. The benefit of this would be moving forward, the teacher can learn how to improve student achievement. I would like to use this in my classroom because I believe it would be a beneficial way to see where there needs to be improvement in student's math skills. Also, providing math skills would be useful as a teacher so that the skills are already provided.




I learned a lot about completing the newsletter assignment by using different tools in Microsoft Word that I haven't used before. I could improve in the future by learning more about Microsoft Word so I could fully utilize more of the skills available which would improve the overall quality of my newsletter. These skills that I have learned could help me in the future when/if I ever need to create a newsletter for my future classroom. I could also use these skills on Microsoft for a lot of other creative assignments like lesson plans or handouts for my students.
