I visited Lincoln High School in Tallahassee's website and was able to find the teacher pages. I clicked on a teacher named Nick, Daigle and he teachers marine science and biology honors. He has a tab where you can click "meet the teacher," "marine science," "marine science calendar," "marine science study guides," "biology honors," "biology honors calendar," "biology honors study guides," and "helpful links." Within each of these tabs has information on the course itself, the calendar of when important dates are and links students can access that will give students more resources to utilize for the course if they need extra help. These all seem to be helpful things that both students and parents could access in order for more insight on to what they or their children will be learning about in the particular class. https://www.leonschools.net/Page/22230 I plan on using technology to ac...

My initial experiences using Diigo went smoothly because I had the help from Ms. Bagdy telling us how to navigate the website. Upon first using it, it seems overwhelming because the site doesn't seem that organized. It seems somewhat out to date and confusing because there are many different things you can use the site for. When we go to the group tab and have posted things under there, I didn't find that too difficult to use and I think it is cool how there is a bookmark you can use on your browser and it can show up on the website. I have really enjoyed blogging since we've started in this class. I find it nice to reflect on things we have learned about in class and be able to write about them while also being able to see and comment on your peers' posts. I find blogger very easy to use and that makes the process more enjoyable. Along with this, all questions that are asked of us to answer and things asked to discuss are mostly based on our opinion which I enjoy bec...

I did not start using Twitter until I was a freshman in high school because my mom didn't want me to have one. I have had a personal account ever since then so for about 6 years. I have never really been active posting on Twitter but I do enjoy scrolling through and looking at stuff because you can follow a variety of different people and use it for different stuff. I have found it beneficial because you can keep up with things that are going on around the world like news and other current events. Twitter might be helpful in my future career because I want to be a teacher and I could use it in my classroom similar to how we are using it in this class. The digital divide affects access student success in schools because depending on student's ability to access technology, they may not be able to complete assignments given by the teacher. If students come from low income families where they would not be able to afford internet access or a computer, then they wouldn't be abl...

ILP Design-Edmodo

https://voicethread.com/share/13629372/ I chose to do my ILP design about Edmodo. I used Edmodo in high school and I thought that it was a very efficient way to communicate with your students and between students as well. On Edmodo, the teacher can create assignments, quizzes, polls and post announcements. There is an Edmodo app that you can download on your phone which also makes it easier for older students to have access to these resources. Along with this, you can invite parents to the Edmodo page which would be useful for younger students so their parents can be in the loop of what is going on in their classroom and upcoming assignments. Edmodo is a very easy site to use which is why I also think it would be useful for younger students because I don't think they would have a problem using it.

I have used Microsoft Word in order to write essays for my classes and complete assignments. I grew up using a Mac so most of the time I would use pages because that's what Macs would come with. However, I became familiar with Word because of all of the other Microsoft applications you could get with word. Pages is also hard to convert and submit assignments if the other person doesn't have a Mac so Microsoft makes it easier to do assignments so I know my document will be compatible with other computers. I have seen my teachers use it to write their syllabus or grading rubrics for students to look at. Growing up in the classroom and using technology, I was taught that copyright and plagiarizing and all of that stuff was a very serious consequence. I was always taught to write things in my own words and when I use information from a cite or other resource, to properly cite it so the people receive credit for their work. It is very important for teachers to follow this as well ...
