I have been using Twitter since I was a freshman in high school because my mom would not let me download it in middle school, so it is not unfamiliar to me. I have learned that Twitter can go beyond just acting as a social media and looking at funny memes. You have the power to follow whoever you want and the kind of content that will show up on your feed. Some benefits of using Twitter are being able to communicate with others, so for using it in class we can communicate with our other classmates and Mrs. Bagdy. I have not experienced any issues using Twitter thus far.

I learned how to use weebly which I had not used before. I enjoyed learning how to use a website and I found it very useful for future purposes whether we want to become teachers or not because websites can be used for other purposes as well. For me, it was useful because I do want to become a teacher and it also helped me understand what information is useful for a classroom website. Next time, I would learn to utilize more of what the website had to offer but for this assignment, I was mostly focused on meeting the criteria and making it look good as well.

Assistive and adaptive technologies have the ability to help disabled people to perform tasks easier and with assistance. Some examples of physically disabled people being able to use a computer easier would be using voice recognition instead of typing or using a joystick instead of a mouse. Some examples for people with learning disabilities when using a computer would be to use an organizer in order to keep track of assignments and utilizing all productivity tools on a computer like spell check. Some challenges I could see using assistive and adaptive technologies in my future classroom would be making sure the students know that they are available and working with students to help them utilize them and becoming familiar with them myself so that I can teach them how to use it.

  1. Wow, I really liked your overall design! You did a great job making it look fun and had a lot of pictures and big things to click on for people (but not too much ;)).
I think the contrast of the color in the backgrounds was a great choice. the background of the text was white to make sure you could read things, and the background behind that was colored to make sure the whole thing wasn't all white to look at. I liked that colors were consistent as you went through each page. The repetition of having the same colors on each page made it less overwhelming because there were lots of great colors on each page. I thought the alignment of each page made it look fun! Each page had playful positions for where the information was on the page, and I liked that. There wasn't a lot of information on each page, but I think that the information that was there was all together to make sure it looked like everything was related. There wasn't any info that was off in its own little corner or anything.

  2. I think the contrast is really well done because everything is really easy to see. The colors you chose to use compliment each other well. There is a lot of repetition in the font and I like that it stays consistent throughout the whole site. I also liked how consistent the theme was; it made it clear the site is geared towards students. The alignment was really neat and organized whether it be the text, photos, links, or the embedded code. I especially like how you made the links have alternate alignments so it made each one a little more clear to see, but also made the design a little more fun. I also think the proximity is really well done because everything you chose to use is related to either you or the site/your classroom. Everything looked like it should be there and made it really look like a 5th grade website. Overall, I thought your website was really good and a great example of a classroom website. I really like how the design and interactivity is geared more towards your students.
